Inspiration: Shades of Purple

Growing up, purple was my favorite color. I loved everything from eggplant to lilac, orchid to lavender. Even though I am too indecisive to have a color preference these days, purple has a special place in my heart.

Inspiration: A Vintage Yellow Wedding

It's getting to that time of year when you can just feel that fall is right around the corner. That's my inspiration for this board. I am dying to find the yellow gown picture in the second row. Isn't it to die for?

Inspiration Tuesday: Black and White Wedding

I came across Lisa Lefkowitz's website and had to do an inspiration board around the fantastic wedding shoes she shot a photo of. Black and white, along with a touch of another color, is clean and simple, yet rich.

Black and white combined with a bright or primary color is elegant and refined or, when paired with earth tones is rustic and casual.

Lemonade & Lavender

Sorry about the delay in posting today. I'm making some technical changes in order to improve the maneuverability of brides {bliss} and it's taking a little bit longer than I thought! I promise to have a post up by mid-afternoon. Until then, here is a little inspiration for the day...

I love this refreshing palette; soft yellow and lavender. For a simple garden wedding, I think gorgeous bunches of lavender for bouquets, sprigs for boutonnieres, and filled vases for centerpieces would be heavenly. Serve your guests homemade lemonade (with lavender blossoms frozen in the ice) and add a little limoncello for the 21 and over crowd.

Robins Egg Blue an Pepperberry

I adore this color combination for a wedding! It's seasonless, and reminiscent of old apothecary bottles and a vintage seaside kitchen. My inspiration is the photo of the hanging gown; I love the wallpaper and drapes in the background! And the dress, with its layers of beautiful lace! Swoon.

If the photographer of the gown emails me, I would love to give you full credit and see more of your work!

Alice in Wonderland Wedding

I imagine my wedding will have several similarities to the Mad Hatter's tea party in "Alice in Wonderland", which is why I was inspired to do this board. Most girls loved the movie as children. We can all relate to wacky friends, feeling a bit lost, and the lack of discipline when it comes to treats!

The color and whimsy of an Alice in Wonderland themed wedding will make your guests feel like they are a part of the journey and adventure on your wedding day. Just a touch here and there; not too costumey.

Rustic Wedding Inspiration

I love casual weddings. People are much more relaxed when they aren't wearing tuxedos and gowns. There is more room to play with decor and mood. And bottom line with me, the bride and groom enjoy are free from the restraints of being bogged down by all of the typical formalities.

This beautiful, natural color palette is soft and cozy. Little splashes of color pop with wallpaper courtesy of mother earth! Lots of wood, grass, leaves and flowers; nature's decor!

Pretty Picnic Wedding

I adore the idea of a vintage picnic wedding. The palette is perfectly summer, the mood laid back, the dress is casual, and the food comforting.

Below are some wonderful ideas. I love the sweet tea in carafes, the food layed on the open bed of an old truck, brown-bagged favors, and lots of checked and ticking stripe fabrics!

Sunshine and Lollipops

Living so close to the ocean, I'm rarely without inspiration in the summer months. Twice a week, there are fireworks on the beach. A day doesn't go by without the smell of shrimp and lobster on a neighbor's grill. And one thing we are particularly known for in New Jersey is our sweet shops. From salt water taffy to giant lollipops, skipping in to one of the shops is sure to bring out the kid in you!

It's a Carnival

It must be summer. The carnival is in town, and a delicious breeze of funnel cake and hot dogs is carried past my window. Children walk by at dusk with their glow sticks and cotton candy. Moms and dads carry blankets and baskets of snacks. Fireworks begin at 9 PM sharp.

This is how I remember the annual carnival. Like most things adults cherish from their childhood, I'm sure carnivals have changed a bit since I was a little girl. But as the Fourth of July approaches, I'm reminded one of summers pleasures, and it is the inspiration behind my board.

Sunshine and Butterflies

I am an incurable optimist. I believe we will see the sun again in the Northeast! In the mean time, here's a cheerful collection inspired by warm summer days in the garden.

Pink Lemonade in the Shade

I love the combination of citrus colors for a summer wedding! So fresh and clean. Don't forget to ask your reception venue if the bartender knows how to make a pink lemonade and make it your signature drink!
