DIY Project~ {fabric flowers}

I've been looking for a good DIY project to share and struck gold with Laurie Cinotto's blog. Seems that everyone is into fabric flowers these days and Laurie demonstrates how to make them yourself:

Group together and add to a belt, hair clip, or arrange them as Laurie has in little vases. Lovely for wedding decor or bridesmaid gifts. The possibilities are endless! Look for vintage fabric or feed sack material on Etsy or your local flea market. Super cute and way easy!

DIY Monday

I loved my post from last week, "Porkchops and Peaches", so I decided for this DIY Monday to give you more confetti ideas.

Martha Stewart sells hole punches in a number of different sizes, shapes and styles. My favorite is the butterfly punch. So pretty versatile. The little cut outs can also be used as decoration on escort cards, the pages of the guest book and table numbers.

You can use store bought scrapbook paper, design your own using a floral dingbat or clip-art, or, if you want to be eco-chic, use old books and magazines.

Put a handful of your clippings in muslin bags, coin envelopes, or glassine bags and stamp with your monogram.

DIY Monday~Seed Packet Favors

I love a simple project. This one, courtesy of yours truly, is seed packs I designed for one of my wedding favors. It's easy, economical and ecological!

To make, you will need:

Box of small recycled coin envelopes. You can purchase kraft color in any office supply store or find assorted colors on Etsy. I Like 2 1/2x4 1/4 inch size.

Bulk seeds. I love heirloom vegetables, herbs and lettuces.

Instruction sticker. I designed mine to be 1 1/2 by 2 1/2 inches and printed on a label sheet.

Small glassine bags (for freshness!)

Now for the freebie part! I downloaded Darrians Frames from FontSpace and Attic from FreePremiumFonts. Play around with the frame and font sizes. I used 200 for the frame (turned 90 deg.) and 20 font on the front of the envelope.

Don't you just love the vintage, handmade quality? The font appears to be hand stamped. So cute for a garden or backyard wedding! And you can switch up the font and frame color depending on what sort of seeds you use.

Dear Monday

Happy Monday to everyone! This is a super busy week for me, as I am adding a lot of features to my blog and helping with my future sister-in-law's baby shower. While I'm setting up my photographers blog roll today, I thought I'd share a wonderful idea with you.

This picture comes from Stephanie Williams Photography blog. The couple, Ashley and Jeff, integrated birds into their wedding design. My favorite is the love birds notes. Pretty little birds made from vintage looking scrapbook paper were placed in a galvanized bucket and guests were asked to leave a little note for the couple. What a great idea to add these lovely sentiments to a photo album or scrap book! Wonderful alternative to traditional guest books.

I found a bird template here and scrapbook paper here . With thousand of different patterns and styles, you have plenty of options for coordinating with your wedding colors and theme.
